Water jetting & Blasting Equipment

High Pressure Water Jetting Equipments

High pressure water jetting equipments is a process that uses high speed / high pressure water to clear blockages in pipe systems and is typically, the first approach to clearing blocked lines. Barring the possibility of a collapsed line, hydrojetting will solve the problem and thereafter routine maintenance will keep the lines free and functioning properly.

This process may best be compared to "high pressure washing" which has also gained popularity as a means to clean driveways, homes, streets, commercial vehicles and more.

Hydrojetting, also known as water jetting, is the process of using high and ultra high pressure water to clean open and enclosed areas (even areas that are difficult to access), surface prepare materials for coatings, remove clogs and cold-cut materials

Water jet cleaning machines are designed on the basis of using water at high pressure for cleaning of tough surfaces. Reciprocating plunger pump is used to deliver water at high pressure through specially designed nozzles to meet the cleaning requirements. The flow of water is regulated through regulator valves to meet different flow and pressure requirements with single machine.

High pressure water jetting equipment comprises of high pressure triplex plunger pump, drive unit, trigger operated gun, high pressure hose, pressure regulating valve, pressure gauge, unloader cum bypass valve, high pressure lance, various types of cleaning nozzles & various safety control systems. The complete unit can be provided with trolley for easy mobilisation from one place to another. These jet cleaning machine are available in wide range with different designs and with a variety of different features, which make these machines versatile in nature and find applications in different industries.

Using water pressure from 5,000 psi (350 kg/cm2) to 35,000 psi (2450 kg/cm2), these techniques have been used in practically every industry where cleaning and descaling is required. Following is the list of major industries, where water jetting is used for wide range of application :

  • Coal field & mines
  • Power plants
  • Cement plants
  • Air ports & shipyard
  • Pharmaceutical plants
  • Textile units
  • Paper mills
  • Fishing & marine industry
  • Steel plants
  • Forging industries

thermal spray coatings (including ceramics, metallics, abradables, and cermets)

the water jet stripping process removes these coatings with one of two different mechanisms: erosion or delamination. Erosion is used on the majority of hard coatings such as metal and carbide thermal spray coatings. A special nozzle is used to break up the water stream into small droplets, which impact the surface of the coating. This causes small pieces of the coating to erode off the surface, leaving the substrate intact.

Sewer Cleaning and Drain Jetting

For technical and sanitary reasons, sewer cleaning and drain jetting is frequently cleaned. Particularly, the blocking of the cross sections as well as odour problems need to be avoided. Also, damages at the channel walls must be recognized very early, which is only possible, if the walls are completely clean. Further, inorganic deposits that reduce the sewage treatment efficiency must be removed.

Sewer jetting / drain jetting / gutter cleaning is the process of using sewer cleaning equipments to bring a sewer drain line back to like-new condition without having to actually replace the line. This is very cost-effective practice, as well as a nearly effortless task- especially for sewer cleaning that are heavily used, even for grease. (you aren't supposed to be dumping that down there in the first place! ).

Anyone, who has ever had to deal with a sewer or even residential septic tank, knows all about clogs and back-ups. Soap scum residue, grease, hair, food, mineral deposits and more can all cause a drain to back up. As much as people try to be careful with what they send down the tube, it is almost inevitable that these things will at some time pass through eventually causing clogs. Even as careful as you are with grease- you may not directly dump it down the drain- but the remaining grease on pots, pans and plates can cause a film that over the years can build up and solidify. Sometimes a simple unclogging could do but after masses of build-up and too frequent blockages, perhaps a good sewerjetters would be a more effective method that will also last plenty longer.

Pressure jet's sewer cleaning equipments are completely suitable to achieve all above cleaning results, because these pumps are rugged in construction, have medium speed and perform to the entire satisfaction of the customer.

There are special high pressure piston and plunger pumps, designed specifically for this purpose, called sewer jetters. They can clean the pipes leading from sinks and bathtubs leading to the tanks, even those at long distances, which is especially helpful in the case of industrial piping. The sewerjetters work at a high pressure, between 150-300 bar and 12-70 lpm. The pressure can be adjusted throughout the job as needed. These sewer cleaning equipments use a special nozzle that gets down into the drains to loosen and cuts the clogged materials that are obstructing the pathways. This essentially scours the pipes clean and then washes the debris back up to be removed, usually through a vacuum pump.

These kinds of systems are successfully running in different municipal corporations.

What size drain jetting hose do i use?

  • 1" - 4" pipe lines use 1/8" size drain cleaning hose

  • 2" - 6" pipe lines use 1/4" size drain jetting hose

  • 5" - 10" pipe lines use 3/8" size sewer cleaning hose

  • 8" - 12" pipe lines use ½" size sewer jetting hose

  • 10" or larger pipe lines use ¾" size sewer blasting hose.

Hydroblasting Equipments

The purpose of a water pump is to move water not containing suspended solids or particulates. Water pumps handle ground water, potable and salt water. High pressure water pumps are widely used in water blasting applications.

Water jetting and water blasting equipment using high pressure water pumps is used to direct high pressure water streams against material to clean or cut it. The streams of water released by water jetting and water blasting equipment is normally 344 pressure to 2750 (5,000 psi to 40,000 psi). In an efficient water jetting system, pressure is vital consideration. Typically, hardened deposits respond better with high pressure water pumps, and softer materials are best removed with lower flows.

Water jetting and hydroblasting equipments is used for cleaning or demolition of products made of metal, wood, concrete, stone, plastic, glass or other building materials.

Specific components within a water jetting system include abrasive injectors, pressure generators, blast cabinets or booths, water guns, and water tanks. Abrasive injectors can convert a water jetting system into an abrasive blaster. The injection or metering system controls the amount of abrasive pushed into the air stream. In large systems, the delivery system and injection system may be separate components. Pressure generators increase the pressure of the carrier fluid (water or air). Plunger-type intensifier pumps are commonly used to generate high pressure water for water jet cutting, wet or water abrasive blasting and non-abrasive pressure washing or rinsing.

Hydro Jetting Machine

Hydro jetting machine is a process that uses high speed / high pressure water to clear blockages in pipe systems and is typically the first approach to clearing blocked lines. Barring the possibility of a collapsed line, hydro jetting machine will solve the problem and thereafter routine maintenance will keep the lines free and functioning properly. Maintenance of this sort will go a long way toward minimizing eventual blockages that could result in a line breakage requiring more drastic and expensive remediation.

What is hydro jetting?

High pressure hydro jetting machine (a. K. A hydro scrubbing) is a process in which your sewer pipes are scoured by streams of high-pressure water shooting out of a hose at up to (241 bar) 3,500 psi. These high-pressure streams are strong enough to cut through and clear out any debris in your sewer lines.

How dose hydro jetting work?

Hydrojetting machine is typically done through an opening called a cleanout, which is an accessible opening present in every plumbing system and designed to allow plumbers to easily "clean out" debris and other clogs. Hydro jetter consists of a large tank of water, a special high-pressure hose, a special high-strength nozzle, and a machine which pressurizes the water in the hose so that it can spray out of the nozzle at a pressurized rate of up to 3,500 psi and a flow rate of 18 gpm.

Every plumbing system is designed to carry waste water "downstream" using gravity. The hydro jetting nozzle is placed at the "downstream" end of the plumbing system and it works its way "upstream" against gravity. That way, any debris that is cleared out by the hydro jetter will harmlessly flow downstream where the drainage path is already clear. Pressurejet designed hydrojetters are capable of clearing out sewer lines over a length of several hundred feet.

When would i need hydro jetting?

Hydrojetting equipments are an appropriate solution when clogs cannot be removed through traditional snaking, such as in the presence of stubborn roots that have found their way into your sewer lines. Hydro blasting machine is also required before pipe lining because any debris present in the existing pipe may cause the epoxy lining resin to be malformed and / or prevent it from bonding correctly to the existing pipe.

What are the benefits of hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting machine can easily cut through the most stubborn roots and debris and remove built-up mineral deposits and other obstructions clogging the inside of your drainage line.

Although hydro jetting machine is strong enough to clear out roots from your sewer lines, any amount of root penetration is cause for serious concern. Root penetration pervasive enough to cause repeated backups indicates that the roots have gotten thick enough over time to damage the pipe and its protective waterproof inner coating. In those instances, pressurejet recommends getting a camera inspection to determine the seriousness of the condition, because sewer line replacement via pipe bursting may be required.

Hydro jet blaster cleaning is a method of cleaning holding tanks in recreational vehicles. This method uses high pressure streams of water to remove virtually all build up in tanks and lines.
